March 29, 2018  – Dallas, TX – The Global Media Summit (GMS) has revealed its 2018 Platinum Award winners. The Platinum Awards celebrate the outstanding achievement of Christians in the field of communications, as well as excellence in media. GMS, now in its third year, will take place at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas, April 26-28, 2018.

This year’s award recipients include Actress Nancy Stafford, Award-Winning Producer, Brian Bird, Television Executive, Paul Crouch Junior, and Award-Winning Author and Publisher, Mary Hollingsworth.

nancy_stafford_400Nancy Stafford has appeared on countless television shows including the current series, “Scandal,” “The Mentalist,” “ER,” “Frasier,” “Babylon 5,” and “Baywatch.” Her latest films include “Heaven Bound,” Heritage Falls,” “A Mermaid’s Tale,” and “I’m Not Ashamed.” Her short film, “Common Threads,” won 2017 Best Film at the California Women’s Film Festival, IFS, and Best Shorts Competition. Nancy is the ‘voice’ in numerous projects-from Mattel video games to PBS documentaries. She recently co-produced, co-wrote, and co-starred in the TV pilot “Generation 4.0.” She has been a series regular on six television shows including “Matlock,” the Emmy-winning “St. Elsewhere,” ABC’s “Sidekicks,” and has appeared in over twenty-five episodic roles. Stafford, a popular conference speaker, is also the author of two books, Beauty by the Book: Seeing Yourself as God Sees You and The Wonder of His Love: A Journey into the Heart of God.

brian_bird_400Brian Bird is a thirty-year veteran of the Hollywood film and television business. He is the founder and partner with Michael Landon, Jr. of Believe Pictures, specializing in life-and-faith-affirming films and television. His most recent writing and producing credits include the 2017 feature, “The Case for Christ,” “Captive” (2015) for Paramount Pictures, and “The Ultimate Life” (2013) for 20th Century Fox. He is currently executive producer and co-creator of the popular Hallmark Channel series, “When Calls the Heart.” Between 1998-2003, Bird served as co-executive producer and writer on the final five seasons of the series, “Touched by an Angel.”

 

paul_crouch_190Paul Crouch Jr. will receive the Platinum Award for his major contribution to Christian Television as a pioneer with his parents Jan and Paul Crouch Senior, founders of the largest Christian Television Network in history, reaching every major continent via 62 satellites and over 12,000 television and cable affiliates worldwide. At TBN, Crouch was vice president of Administration, as well as chief of staff at TBN’s International Headquarters, where he was responsible for program development, program acquisitions, overseeing TBN’s in-line production values, and identifying potential TBN strategic production partnerships and business alliances. Crouch also led TBN’s growth into digital platforms. For his work at TBN, Crouch received numerous awards, including the prestigious Telly Award for outstanding contributions in commercial content. Today, Crouch is Chairman and Chief Designer for the Cinemills Corporation, President of PJ Video LLC, as well as consultant to the TCT Network.

mary_hollingsworth_190Mary Hollingsworth is President and Publisher of Creative Enterprises Studio, hosting two hundred of Christian publishing’s top editorial and marketing freelancers. Mary is celebrating her thirty-fourth year in Christian publishing and is the author of more than 110 Christian books, appearing on bestseller lists more than one hundred times. Three of her books have sold more than one-million copies each. One of Mary’s bestsellers, Hugs for Women, was a finalist for the Christian Booksellers Association Inspirational Gift Book of the Year Award. Her children’s book, Polka Dots, Stripes, Humps ‘n’ Hatracks received the C.S. Lewis All-Time Top Ten Favorites award. Hollingsworth has won numerous other literary awards including the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association Gold Book Award and the ECPA Platinum Book Award.

The theme of the 2018 Global Media Summit is “Victory in Battle.” GMS provides an opportunity for Christian media professionals, both men and women, to come together and be inspired, equipped, and to connect with each other.

Suellen Roberts, Founder of Global Media Summit, along with the GMS Advisory Board, made up of Robert Higley, Paul Crouch Jr., Brenda Crouch, Lisa Mouradian, Lisa Burkhardt Worley, Randy Weiss, Cameron Arnett, B.J. Arnett, Sharon Hill, Harral Scott, GMS members and the International Partners, plan to provide a premiere experience as people unite together.

GMS 2018 will also give men and women the opportunity to be inspired by talented musical artists and keynote speakers who are globally recognized for biblically based teaching. The outstanding seminar faculty will equip each attendee to go to the next level and the international program will provide a vision of what God is doing globally. Through this summit, life-long relationships will be formed to unify Christians, empowered to be a positive influence in our culture through media, domestically and internationally
