Opening Night of the Global Media Summit

Wednesday night’s GMS Music Awards will be an evening filled with fun and excitement. Music artist finalists will perform in front of a media audience for the Global Media Summit. In addition they will compete for the chance to win a spot to perform at the gala on Friday. Additional awards will be given, and special guest judges will be attending to give live and written critiques. Categories will be in performance, songwriting and music video. Entries must be submitted online in order to be considered for selection. The GMS Music Awards is included in the GMS registration package.

There will be three categories to submit entries for: Performance, Songwriting and Music Video. You can submit to one, two, or all three categories. See below for entry form.

Performance:
Note: You MUST include your first and last name and description of your submission in the title of each upload.

1. MP3 or Wav File
2. Bio in PDF or other text format.
3. Link to a performance or recording (Facebook, YouTube, etc.)

Songwriting:
Note: You MUST include your first and last name and description of your submission in the title of each upload.

1. MP3 or Wav file
2. Song lyrics in PDF or other text format.
3. Bio in PDF or other text format.
4. Link to a performance or recording online (optional)

Music Video:
Note: You MUST include your first and last name and song title in the title of each upload.

1. Preferred format- MOV, MP4, QuickTime, AVI, MPEG2, or WMV
2. Bio in PDF or other text format.

Cost:  $25 per entry per category, non-refundable

Entry deadline: March 15.  You will be notified of the results by April 1.

All submissions will be judged and critiqued by music performance and songwriting professionals. Participating artists may be male or female and cannot be younger than 17.

Process:  

• Top 20 semi-finalists in each of the Performance and Songwriting categories will be “called back”. This means they will be given the opportunity to submit more information and performances for the chance to qualify as a finalist and attend the GMS Music Awards event on April 22nd.
• 10 Music Videos will be selected and featured at the Global Media Summit, played in front of the live audience, along with placement on the GMS website and promoted on GMS’s social media. Selected artists in this category will also have a table to promote their music / merchandise.
• Following live finalist performances in front of distinguished guest judges and an audience, there will be a grand prize given in each category (performance and songwriting), which will include a coveted performance spot at the Global Media Summit Gala on Friday evening, April 24th.
• Other categorical awards and trophies will be given to select finalists on the night of the GMS Music Awards.
• DFW area press will be covering the event for artist exposure.
• All finalists will be given table space to promote their music merchandise
• Once finalists are determined, they are asked to purchase a ticket for the GMS Media Awards Gala. All entries are encouraged to register for the entire Global Media Summit 2020, April 22-24.

Award Winners: 

• The performance and songwriting winners will perform at the exciting, prestigious gala on Friday.
• The two top winners will also be booked to perform at the nearest CWIMA events in Summer or Fall.
• Performance winner will receive a co-write and demo recording, produced by Billboard artist Erica Lane in Odessa, TX.
• Songwriting winner will receive a co-write session and booking consultation with Billboard recording artist and songwriter, Erica Lane.
