GLOBAL MEDIA SUMMIT ANNOUNCES KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
Nationally Known Film, Television and Music Professionals Will Share Their Wisdom
February 1, 2018 – Dallas, TX. – The 2018 Global Media Summit (GMS) is pleased to announce its Main Stage speakers for April’s worldwide event. GMS, now in its third year, will take place at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center, April 26-28, 2018.
Award-winning Film and Television producer, Brian Bird, Television Actress Nancy Stafford, Norwegian Television Host and Singer, Edward John, highly acclaimed worship leader, Babbie Mason, and inspirational country singer, Mary James will all be featured on the Main Stage at GMS.
Brian Bird is a thirty-year veteran of the Hollywood film and television business and is co-founder of Believe Pictures with Michael Landon Junior. Believe Pictures is known for creating high-caliber, life-affirming and uplifting entertainment projects. Bird is the executive producer and co-creator of the highly acclaimed Hallmark original series, “When Calls the Heart,” (2013-17). Because of its stellar ratings, “When Calls the Heart” has been renewed for a fourth season on the Hallmark Channel. His other writing and producing credits include the 2017 feature, “The Case for Christ,” “Captive” (2015) for Paramount Pictures, “The Ultimate Life” (2013) for 20th Century Fox, along with the TV film, “Beverly Lewis’ The Reckoning” for the Hallmark Channel (2015). Between 1998-2003, Bird worked as co-executive producer and writer on the final five seasons of the popular series, “Touched by an Angel.” His new book was just released “When God Calls the Heart: Devotions from Hope Valley” with Broadstreet Publishing.
Babbie Mason, who will be leading worship at GMS, is an award-winning singer-songwriter of Christian music, author and TV talk show host. Her ministry and career have blessed thousands for almost three decades, and she has traveled across the globe encouraging the hearts of young and old alike in churches, conferences and corporate conventions. Her heart-felt lyrics and melodies have been translated into over twenty languages. She is the recipient of two Dove Awards for her singing and songwriting, and has been nominated for both Grammy and Stellar Awards. In 2010, Babbie was recognized for her efforts by being inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame. In addition, Babbie recently authored the book, Embraced by God, Celebrating Who and Whose You Are. A companion to the book is Babbie’s 24th music project, the CD called “Embrace.”
Award-winning Inspirational country singer, Mary James, will also perform at the Global Media Summit. James was named the 2016 “Female Vocalist of the Year” at the Christian Country Expo Conference and Award show. She also won the 2016 award for Inspirational Country Music “Video of the Year.” Also in 2016, her song, “Fearfully, Wonderfully Made” vaulted to #1 on the Inspirational Country Top 100 chart. Her most recent CD, “Overflow” was released in late February 2017.
Global Media Summit Founder and President, Suellen Roberts, will also provide a keynote address at the 2018 Global Media Summit. Roberts brings two decades of television experience to the stage. She was a television producer with three nationally syndicated shows, was a television station General Manager and Senior Vice President of a broadcasting corporation. “You can’t ask for a better lineup than what we will offer at this year’s Summit,” said Roberts. “This is a great opportunity for all media professionals to learn and be inspired by some of the best in the business.”
