Christian Singer Moriah Peters Credits God for Her Achievements

Thanks to the Internet, talented individuals are finding it easier than ever to promote themselves and build successful careers as musicians. In 2014, with the help of websites like YouTube and T.V. programs like American Idol and America’s Got Talent, roughly 173,000 Americans made a living as musicians.

One 24-year-old singer and songwriter from Pomona, California has been gaining popularity lately and credits all her success to God.

“God said, ‘I’m going to give you a new passion and mission within music. Sing songs that will change people’s hearts and lives,'” said Moriah Peters.

According to Lumination Network, on Tuesday, January 24, Peters surprised a packed Lipscomb arena during a Tuesday Gathering and began performing her faith-based music. After her performance, she spoke about her time on American Idol, the support of her family and friends, and how she always plans on keeping God at the forefront of her career.

“It all comes down to knowing you’ve been called to do something,” she added. “Love is at the heart of all that we do.”

Christian Today reports that it wasn’t always easy for Peters, as she has battled anxiety and fear throughout her young life. But she was always able to turn to God for help.

During her tour for her first album, I Choose Jesus, her doctors believed that she had leukemia. Luckily, after a few more tests, her medical team ruled out the diagnosis.

“I’ve always struggled with fear and anxiety and worry,” Peters added. “I know that everybody struggles with that. But [what I experienced is] the kind of fear that puts you in a hospital bed and makes you sick and makes you feel insane.”

Peters not only credits God for helping her through her most difficult times in life but also her fans who have shared some of their most painful and darkest moments.

“They held onto a hope that they were going to make it through and God would never leave them,” she added. “Sharing those stories has been selfishly very encouraging to me [and] accidentally very encouraging to other people as well.”
