Biography
Hollywood entertainment executive and industry pioneer Michael Jay Solomon, Founder and CEO of Truli Media Corporation and Chairman of its parent company Truli Media Group, has pioneered the international marketplace for the American television industry for over 40 years. Michael has served as the Founder, President, Chairman and CEO of several of the largest US television syndication and international media content distribution companies such as United Artist, MCA (VP), Telepictures (Founder, Chairman, and CEO), Lorimar-Telepictures (President) and Warner Bros. (President International).
Under Michael’s leadership, Lorimar Telepictures became the largest television production anddistribution company of American content in the world, producing TV series such as Dallas, Falcon Crest, Knott’s Landing, Alf, and many more at their studios. He is a co-founder of HBO OLE (now HBO Latin America), and he opened the door to Western programming in Latin America, China, Russia, India, Scandinavia and many more third-world countries. He was the first international distributor of The Grammys, MTV and E Entertainment Channel, and is a Founder of the American Film Market Association, and is a member of the International Council of Television Arts & Sciences.
Michael’s time is now focused on Truli.com and his most recent joint venture, Truli Cinemills LLC. (TCMC), Chairman and CEO. TCMC, by way of the digital platform, Truli.com, will offer a unique online experience in family entertainment and will produce and distribute high-quality, family-friendly films (with a little bit of faith), documentaries, and TV series, in addition to aggregating films and television content from global media markets. The first project announced as part of TCMC is A Cowgirl’s Story, a full-length feature film inspired by the classic novel Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. A Cowgirl’s Story is set to be distributed by Samuel Goldwyn Films.
Mr. Solomon served on the Board of Overseers of New York University’s Stern School of Business (33 years) and is a special advisor to the President of Emerson College in Boston. He is a Founder of The Sam Spiegel Film & Television School in Jerusalem, and was Founding Chairman of The Jerusalem Foundation of the West Coast of the United States.
